Japan Mokei Hobby Show Yamato Booth Report: October 17, 2008
Filed under (Info) by admin @ 06:02 pm

The 48th Japan Mokei Hobby Show is being held through October 16 to 19 at Makuhari Messa.  As you may be able to tell by the name it is more of a model kit show then a toy show but there was no lack in interesting items.   Unlike Wonderfest or C3 x Hobby this is a military and mecha centered show so if that’s what your looking for you’ll get a mouthfull of it.  It is open to the public on Saturday and Sunday so if you’re in Japan and live nearby you might want to take a look at it.

All pictures were taken on Thursday October 16.

The second booth we will take a look at will be the Yamato Booth.  Lots of new stuff were on display for the first time and they had a suprise a  Macross bicycle! Read on for more.

Lets just go to the Macross bicycle first.  Called the VF-1S Roy Folker model this is a officially licensed Macross bicyicle. I was told there are actual plans to sell it but no final decision has been made about it.  Ridiculously high detailed to say the least  it was quite a sight.  The word is that some of the people at Yamato took it out for a ride around their neighborhood and it was a joy to ride.

Now onto the toys section.  There were a few item that were being seen for the first time.

A quick list of what was being shown at their booth that may be of interest. From the new 1/60 series came the newly announced Destroid Defender, 2 new versions of the Destroid Tomahawk (Weathering Special Version as well as a version called a OD version),  the VF-1D Two Seater.  It was also announced that both types of the Queadluun-Rau Battle Suits will be reproduced next year hence their presence at the booth.
