The 48th Japan Mokei Hobby Show is being held through October 16 to 19 at Makuhari Messa. As you may be able to tell by the name it is more of a model kit show then a toy show but there was no lack in interesting items. Unlike Wonderfest or C3 x Hobby this is a military and mecha centered show so if that’s what your looking for you’ll get a mouthfull of it. It is open to the public on Saturday and Sunday so if you’re in Japan and live nearby you might want to take a look at it. All pictures were taken on Thursday October 16. Lets start off with the Bandai Booth in particularly the Macross Frontier toys they had. Lots of new stuff were on display for the first time and as expected they will be coming out with lots of products from the series. First up is the Model Kits they were displaying. As well as the VF-25 Messia Ozma Version scheduled for November four other types were seen for the first time. The VF-25 Mikhail (Micheal) and Luca as well as a Super Parts version of the Alto version was on display. As a surprise a Bajra model kit was also being shown. No official announcment on whether everything shown will be released but with the way the Alto Ver. sold it looks highly probably. Next will be the Chogokin Damashi Series VF-25 Messia’s. As with the model kits be they’ll be coming out with all four Alto and Ozma in November (Maybe December) followed by Mikhail(Micheal) and Luka in March of 09. Made in, I believe 1/60 scale, they were much larger and impressive then anything I imagined. Alas no huge Bajra was there to be seen. The 1/100 VF100 series Bandai is coming out with were also being shown for the first time . The first release will be the VF25 Messia and is scheduled for a February 2009 release. As for the rest of the booth there was the 1/12 Gundam Beam Saver Toy that is currently under development as well as many of the new Gundam model kits. The Gundam Fix Z Plus looked impressive along with the new Robot Damashi toys that will soon be released. Checked out our Yamato booth report? Click on the link below to check it out. Post a comment
