We’re back with Part 2 of our Cx3 Hobby report. All pictures were taken on Augest 31 at Makuhari Messa. To see what you missed on part one click here. http://www.over-drive-inc.com/overdrive-blog/info/1303.html Let’s begin the second part with a look at some of the larger companys that we missed on part 1. Good Smile Company and Max Factory are up first. The main attraction of the Good Smile Booth was the Hatune Miku Figma figures that were being sold at the event before it’s official release a week later. As you can see from pictures the booth was covered with Hatune Miku. A Miku splatered Good Smile sponsered race car that is actually used in domestic races was put on show. Next is the Volks and A-Zone booth. Both are famous for their very popular dolls. Volks is also famous for being one of the pioneers of mass producing and selling resin kits. The Macross Frontier Itasya made it’s appearance at the show. The fifth picture is of the small pack of tissues that was being handed out at the booth. The two giants of the Japanese hobby magazine industry Hobby Japan and Dengeki Hobby were also there with booth right across each other. They were both displaying the model kits that were customed made for their magazine articles. As for what it was like inside a few pictures. It’s not really super crowded like the Wonderfest or Comike unless you happen to run into the crowd at the Seiyuu events being held but still a fairly well attended event. They was a playable version of the newest Super Robot Wars game as well as the new Macross PSP game. There was even a AKB48 sighting there. Seven of the girls were there to put on a small concert at their booth three times a day. The fanatic fans who were there to see them were camped out in front of the booth doing their stuff the whole day. The strangest thing that was found at CX3 Hobby was bar none the Military Recrutment Booth. For some reason the JSDF (Japanese Self Defense Force: for those of you who wonder about thing like this we’re actually prohibided by law from calling them the army) chose to have a booth at a hobby event and try to recruit new soldiers. They were offering to let anyone try on a uniform and sit in the seat of a Hummer and take pictures. There was also repotably a 30 minute training session with a real Sergeant screaming at you held on the first day for those who were brave enough to register. In the end it ended up being another spot cosplayer could pose at but it kinda looked weired when the military personal started taking pictures too. This wil be the end of our report on C3XHobby. Hope you enjoyed it
