This will be a report from the Yamato Summer Business Show that was held on June 19 and 20th. Many new exciting items were shown for the very first time. A prototype of the Yamato Macross YF-11B that will be released in the future was shown for the very first time but as it was a only prototype no pictures were allowed. We will start with the Yamato GN-U series. All the GN-U-Do toys already announced were seen as well as some newly announced ones such as the #9 Baldios, #10 Dancouga Nova, #11 Kenryu (Machine Robo), #12 Gran Kaiser (Gravion) and #13 God Gravion (Gravion). The special GN-U-Do box that anyone ordering over three can get free was also shown for the first time. The newly announced GN-U -hagane- PLANETARY ROBOT DANGUARD A was also shown for the first time since it’s official release announcement. A prototype of the box was also shown for the first time. Also seen for the first time was the prototype for the not yet announced GN-U-Go Baxinger. To be released in December. Now on to the Yamato Macross corner. The new items that were shown at the show were the 1/60 Destroid Tomahawk and the 1/60 VF-1A (Ichijo Version) with Super&Strike Parts. Both are now available for pre-ordering on our web site. http://www.over-drive-inc.com/store/default.php?cPath=49_125 A sample of the soon to be released VF-1S Strike Valkyire Roy Folker version was available for playing around with. As you can see in the pictures the canopy can be taken off and attached to the arm to recreate the scene from the anime series. The parts needed to attach the canopy to the arm will all be included in the new VF-1S Strike Valkyire set. All 4 of the Bubble Gum Crisis motoslaves used by the Knight Sabers were on display. The Priss version will be released later this month followed by the other three versions. The first release from the new Yamato VMF (Variable Motion Figure) line of poseable action figures will be Kusanagi Motoko from Ghost in the Shell series. The concept of the series is for more flexibility in the movement of the figure as well as being able to hold a pose once it is posed. The size of the figure will surprise you it is much larger then must Japanese PVC figures and would fit in perfectly if you placed it next to a American acton figure. The series will continue with the next release being from Ikki Tousen which will probably be followed by a Queensblade figure. Next will be the Yamato PVC figures such as the Air Gear Noyama Ringo (Hentai Version) , Nasubi from the artwork of famous illustrator Okama and two newly anounched figures the Brenda the Dog figure from the Tandem Twin series and Yuria Hyaku Siki from the manga series of the same name. This will be all for today I’ll have a report up on the Tokyo Toy Show taking place this week as soon as possible so don’t forget to check that one out too.
This is a review of the recently released Yamato Gun-U-Do YF-21 Toy. If you are interested in purchasing the item click on the link below. http://www.over-drive-inc.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=49_147&products_id=324 The Yamato Gun-U-Do series is a new series of toy aimed at being both low cost while retaining the quality Yamato is known for. The first release will be three mecha (VF-11B, YF-19, YF-21) from the well known Macross Plus series. Many more mecha’s will be released with at least 14 expected to be released by next year. Lets start with how the box looks . The size is rather big for a toy of this price. Putting it next to the Revoltech box should give you a idea of how big it is. On to the actual product I’ve tried to cover as many angles as possible but I’m sure I’ve missed some. I’m sure many people are wondering how it looks when you put it next to a Revotech Valkyire so took a few pictures of them side by side. As you can tell by the pictures it’s much larger then the Revoltech model. Last but not least is one of the major point about the Gun-U-Do series Yamato is trying to promote. As the most of the parts are made by ABS (Plastic used in Plastic model kits) the parts can be easily taken off and customized as you wish. You will be able to change the shape of the part or repaint it to get the look you want. As a example we will show pictures of the leg and arm parts being taken off and back on to show how easy it is to take the parts off. Please note though Yamato is promoting customizing the toy they will not replace toys broken while trying to customize them so be careful when taking parts off. Thank you for reading For ordering information on the YF-21 click on the link below. Item is in stock http://www.over-drive-inc.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=49_147&products_id=324
